Dali City, another old town in Kunming Province

Dali was the ancient capital of both the Bai kingdom Nanzhao, which flourished in the area during the 8th and 9th centuries, and the Kingdom of Dali, which reigned from 937-1254. Therefore, it is a historic city in China. Nowadays, it beomes a major tourist destination, along with Lijiang (just 2 hours distance by car), for both domestic and international tourists. Dali has old town and new city; I would like to show some information and pictures about old town (in my opinion, lots of new city in china that are quite similar.)

The city gate of the old town. Bai Kingdom Nanzhao and Dali Kingdom were both very small local authorities in China History, so the city gate cannot be compare to the Beijing old city gate. One thing, I must say: Bai Kingdom Nanzhao and Dali Kingdom were the Kingdom before, but they 100% were a part of China. Nowadays, the number of the Chinese nation is 56 (56 different ethnic groups). Dali history that were written by the Chinese minority nation, and is a part of chinese history.

The door of the old Marshal House (It also was a old military area many many years ago, maybe 200 years ago.). One thing is very intreseting that is a modern Chinese military area is opposite to it (I cannot take the picture from it, because here is the top secret area, some soldiers are outside the area and telling people no taking picture. )

Foreign Street (It means the street was built by foreign people many years ago. Nowadays, China just has three old and ture foreign street. This one may be oldest. I do not sure, but local people told me that it is.)
